A 22-year-old woman was killed in an accident near Kampung Angus along Jalan Persisiran Pantai Bekenu after the vehicle she was driving lost control and fell into a ditch.

The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operations centre said it received an emergency call regarding the single-vehicle crash at 1.21am.

Firefighters from the Batu Niah fire station, located about 35km away, were immediately dispatched to the scene.

Medical personnel from the Health Ministry later confirmed that the woman had died at the scene.

After handing over the body to medical authorities and ensuring the area was safe, the operation ended at 2.52am.
