A woman claimed she was left disgusted after finding what appeared to be a wound plaster inside a piece of kuih she bought from a stall in Taman Kota Masai, Johor.
The woman said she had already bitten into the kuih when she noticed a long thread-like object inside her mouth.
In a post on Threads under the profile @Ameerare, she said she felt something hard while chewing before pulling the object out and discovering that it was allegedly a wound plaster.
“I had already bitten into it and put it in my mouth before noticing a long thread. Then I felt something hard while chewing. I pulled it out and it turned out to be a wound plaster. I immediately felt bitter and wanted to vomit,” she said.
The woman also expressed concern over the alleged hygiene standards during the preparation of the kuih and urged those making the food to be more careful to prevent similar incidents.
“Please, whoever made this kuih, don’t be so careless that you don’t even realise when a plaster comes off your finger.
“Sorry, but I definitely won’t be buying from this shop again,” she said.
In response to questions from other users about the location, the woman said the stall was in Taman Kota Masai but did not publicly reveal its name.
She said she planned to visit the shop to inform the operator about what she had allegedly found and experienced.
“I’ll just tell them that I found and accidentally ate a foreign object in the kuih they were selling.
“I hope they will pay more attention and maintain better hygiene so that the same thing does not happen to someone else,” she said.
