A woman has expressed her disappointment after receiving an online order of mangosteens that allegedly contained nothing but peels, with the fruit believed to have been removed before the parcel reached her.
In a post on Threads, user @ahdeq shared a video showing a box filled with mangosteen peels without any of the edible flesh after waiting two days for the delivery.
“I ordered mangosteens online, and when they finally arrived, only the peels were left! Was it the delivery person who ate them, or did the seller send them like this?” she wrote.
She also claimed the parcel appeared to have been tampered with, pointing out that the shipping label showed signs of being removed and reattached.
“You can clearly see the shipping label was peeled off and stuck back on,” she added.
The post quickly went viral, attracting more than 264,000 views within a few hours and prompting numerous social media users to share similar experiences.
One user, Jerryleehalim, wrote: “This is unbelievable. Whether it’s halal or not, taking and consuming someone else’s property is simply wrong.”
Another user, Aszahmad, said he had encountered a similar issue when sending snacks to a customer.
“I once shipped crackers to a customer in Kedah. When the parcel arrived, half of the snacks were missing. There were clear signs that the package had been cut open and resealed,” he commented.
A third user claimed to have experienced missing items as well.
“I had a shirt missing from my parcel before. There were obvious cut marks and fresh adhesive tape on the package,” the user wrote.
