First-time voters should carefully assess Barisan Nasional’s track record in driving national development, says Johor Umno deputy chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Maslan.
He said since independence, BN-led administrations have played a key role in bringing prosperity, stability and harmony to the country while continuing efforts towards achieving developed nation status.
Ahmad stated that key national infrastructure and institutions were largely established under BN governance, including schools, universities, colleges and skills training centres.
“The BN government has always delivered development, progress, prosperity and stability to the people and the nation,” he said.
He added that continued support for BN candidates would ensure ongoing development and stability in Johor.
Ahmad made the remarks while campaigning alongside BN Larkin candidate Mohd Hairi Mad Shah in Taman Sinaran Kempas.
Mohd Hairi, who is Umno Youth vice-chief, will face Pakatan Harapan’s Suhaizan Kayat, the Pulai MP, as well as Bersama candidate Norsinah Abu in the contest for the Larkin seat.
The Larkin constituency, which was created in 2018, was first won by Bersatu’s Izhar Ahmad before being reclaimed by Umno in the 2022 state election through Mohd Hairi.
The seat has a total of 76,662 registered voters.
