As the court prepares to deliver its verdict tomorrow in the case involving former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak, who is charged with abuse of power and money laundering linked to the alleged misappropriation of more than RM2.27 billion from 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB), Umno Supreme Council member Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan has called on the public to pray for Najib’s acquittal.
“Let us pray that Najib will be found not guilty in the 1MDB case tomorrow. In his defence, he stated that the funds were past donations from Saudi Arabia,” Ahmad said.
He made the remarks in a post on social media platform X today, adding that the truth behind the case was that certain individuals who have fled Malaysia were involved in manipulation and deception.
However, he did not identify those individuals.
