Aminuddin Urges Negeri Sembilan Voters To Be Ready For State Election

Date:

Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Aminuddin Harun described the ongoing political crisis in the state as a lesson for all parties to remain calm and prepared for any possibility, including a potential state election.

While admitting he felt disappointed by the situation, Aminuddin stressed that his main priority remains ensuring the smooth administration of the state government.

“This is a lesson for us to always stay calm, patient and not panic. At the same time, I want the people of Negeri Sembilan to be ready to face a state election.

“These matters are beyond our control. There are still parties who are dissatisfied and continue issuing statements as though we are forced to accept them. I am only human, and I too feel hurt and saddened,” he said.

He made the remarks during a Pakatan Harapan (PH) leadership ceramah held at the parking area of Stadium Tuanku Abdul Rahman in Paroi on Wednesday.

Also present were Amanah president Mohamad Sabu, DAP secretary-general Anthony Loke and PH secretary-general Saifuddin Nasution Ismail.

Aminuddin urged party supporters and fence-sitters to strengthen the machinery of all PH component parties in preparation for any possible state election in Negeri Sembilan or other states.

At the same time, he expressed appreciation to the people of Negeri Sembilan for their continued support and prayers for his leadership and the state administration.

Despite the political challenges, he said the state government administration remains stable and orderly, adding that maintaining investor confidence is crucial, especially amid global economic uncertainty.

“We do not want various issues to arise within a short period and affect investor confidence, particularly when the world economy is facing uncertainty,” he said.

Aminuddin also highlighted efforts by the state government to ease the burden on the rakyat, including reducing rental rates at local authority premises to help traders offer food at lower prices.

“We cannot only talk about politics. We must think about ways to reduce the people’s burden.

“We are worried that the uncertain economic situation could lead to job losses. That should be the focus, not politics alone,” he added.

He stressed that he would continue carrying out his duties to ensure the smooth running of the state administration while leaving it to the people to decide in the next election.

Commenting on remarks by Negeri Sembilan UMNO liaison secretary Mustapha Nagoor, who reportedly rejected his leadership, Aminuddin said he was still waiting for an official explanation from the party’s top leadership.

Mustapha reportedly stated on Wednesday that all 14 UMNO-Barisan Nasional assemblymen in Negeri Sembilan remain firm in rejecting Aminuddin’s leadership as Menteri Besar.

However, he said the party respected the decision by UMNO’s political bureau and the PH-UMNO leadership consultative council to maintain cooperation within the Unity Government in the state
