Pakatan Harapan (PH) presidential council member Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari said the federal government, together with the Penang and Selangor state administrations, has demonstrated PH’s ability to deliver strong economic growth and stable governance.
Speaking at the launch of PH’s manifesto for the Johor state election, the Selangor Menteri Besar said the Madani government under Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has strengthened the ringgit to its highest level in 16 years while improving Malaysia’s resilience against global economic uncertainties.
He added that the federal administration has also attracted strong investment inflows and maintained steady growth in the country’s gross domestic product (GDP).
Amirudin noted that Selangor and Penang together contribute nearly 40% of Malaysia’s economy, highlighting Selangor’s continued economic expansion.
He said Selangor’s economy was valued at RM432 billion last year and has since grown by RM28 billion to RM460 billion, making it roughly twice the size of Johor’s economy.
Amirudin also pledged that if PH wins the Johor state election, the coalition’s Menteri Besar would unveil a comprehensive state development plan within three to six months of taking office.
The Johor state election will see 172 candidates contesting 56 seats, with early voting scheduled for July 7 and polling day on July 11. PH is contesting all 56 state constituencies.
