Barisan Nasional (BN) is confident that its manifesto for the Negeri Sembilan state election offers more realistic commitments compared to those presented by its rivals, based on the coalition’s track record and governing experience.
UMNO Supreme Council member Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan said every pledge in the BN manifesto was carefully prepared according to the government’s ability to implement it, rather than being promises made solely to gain public support.
He said BN’s commitments were based on past achievements and its experience in managing government affairs, adding that the coalition would fulfil the promises made if given the mandate by voters.
“The manifesto is much better because we are confident that what has been promised can be delivered based on our capability and experience in administration,” he said after attending the Pontian UMNO division meeting at Dewan Jubli Intan on Saturday.
Ahmad, who is also Deputy Works Minister, said the manifesto places strong emphasis on developing the younger generation, as elections are not only about forming a government but also shaping the country’s future.
He added that BN’s proposals also focus on women, senior citizens, veterans and all communities through an inclusive approach aimed at benefiting the wider population.
Among BN’s key commitments is the continuation of delayed development projects, including the Malaysia Vision Valley (MVV) initiative which was planned during the tenure of former Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan.
Ahmad said the development project stretching from Seremban to Port Dickson is expected to create more high-income job opportunities, attract investments and strengthen industrial, business and tourism sectors in the state.
He described MVV as more than just a development project, saying it represents a long-term economic plan to boost Negeri Sembilan’s growth and improve the quality of life for residents.
The Negeri Sembilan state election is expected to be closely contested, with political parties continuing to promote their respective manifestos and policies ahead of polling day.
