Former Umno Youth deputy chief Shahril Hamdan, who is currently suspended from the party, has confirmed that he did not receive any invitation to attend the Umno Youth Annual General Assembly at the World Trade Centre (WTC) Kuala Lumpur today.
Despite not being invited, the former Umno information chief said he harboured no ill feelings.
“I didn’t receive any invitation from the Youth wing, even though today is the Youth assembly, but it’s OK,” he told Berita Harian briefly.
Shahril is serving a six-year suspension after being found guilty of breaching party discipline.
However, the situation appeared more favourable for his close friend and Keluar Sekejap podcast co-host, Khairy Jamaluddin, who was invited to attend the Umno General Assembly 2025.
Khairy’s presence at the Youth assembly has sparked speculation over a possible return to Umno after he was expelled from the party in 2023 for allegedly belittling and sabotaging Barisan Nasional’s campaign during the 15th General Election.
Khairy, a former Umno Youth chief, attended the Umno Youth General Assembly dressed in a white baju Melayu, complete with a red samping and songkok, following an invitation from Umno Youth chief Datuk Dr Muhamad Akmal Saleh.
