Calls are growing for former Rafizi Ramli to stop blaming others over perceived policy failures and instead reflect on his own role in restoring public confidence.
The remarks were made by Pahang State Leadership Council NGO Bureau chairman Michael Sia Wei Lung, who urged the former PKR deputy president to provide clear explanations regarding initiatives previously under his leadership. He said questions remain over the use of hundreds of millions of ringgit in government funds, which he claimed have not translated into tangible benefits for the public.
According to him, public sentiment suggests that key policy promises have not been effectively delivered, with concerns raised over the gap between political messaging and real-world outcomes. He added that several major initiatives appear to have suffered from weaknesses in execution and overall effectiveness.
Michael also criticised the implementation of the Central Database Hub (PADU), describing it as an approach driven by fear-based messaging. He claimed that the system’s rollout strategy, which encouraged public registration under the warning of potential loss of government aid, was inappropriate and counterproductive.
He further alleged that such leadership approaches have contributed to declining public trust in economic governance, pointing to recent comments made by Rafizi on a podcast where he was said to have shifted blame onto various parties instead of addressing core issues.
Michael stressed that leadership should be measured not by rhetoric or online popularity, but by accountability and the ability to deliver concrete results for the people.
