Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek has urged the public not to spread false information or defamatory claims regarding the stabbing incident at a secondary school in Selangor, as police continue their investigation.
In a statement shared on social media after visiting the school, Fadhlina said the case is currently being investigated by the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM).
She added that the police had taken all necessary security measures to bring the situation under control, including the arrest of the suspect.
“Our immediate focus is to ensure the victim receives the necessary medical treatment, while providing psychosocial support for members of the school community, which remains a priority for the Ministry of Education.
“We pray that the principal, our dedicated teachers and all students are given strength and patience to overcome this difficult situation,” she said.
Fadhlina also thanked all agencies involved in responding to the incident and said updates on the case would be shared when authorised by the relevant authorities.
“Thank you for your concern and support. I would also like to express my appreciation to all agencies involved.
“God willing, if there are any developments in this case that can be shared with the approval of the authorities, I will provide updates from time to time,” she added.
Earlier, it was reported that a 15-year-old schoolgirl was seriously injured after allegedly being stabbed up to 16 times by a fellow student during an incident at a secondary school in Banting, Selangor.
