Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek has called for a strategic and collective approach to address increasingly complex school safety issues, stressing that all parties must work together to create a safe learning environment for students.
In a Facebook post, Fadhlina said the priority is to strengthen public confidence that every student is protected within a secure school ecosystem, adding that there can be no compromise when it comes to threats to children’s physical or emotional well-being.
She said all institutions under the Ministry of Education must fully comply with existing school safety guidelines and child protection policies to ensure students’ welfare remains safeguarded.
Fadhlina also emphasised the need to address mental health issues alongside physical safety, describing both as equally important in creating a healthy school environment.
“I call on parents and members of the education community who attended the Mutiara Diri Programme today to strengthen our collaboration in building a safe school ecosystem for all.
“Our children deserve to learn in an environment that is safe, dignified and conducive to their well-being,” she said.
Fadhlina added that the programme, which was also attended by Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun, was more than just a routine event, describing it as a significant advocacy initiative aimed at addressing student safety issues in schools.
