The Unity Government remains strong and stable despite recent political developments involving states such as Johor and Negeri Sembilan, said Communications Minister Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil.
Fahmi, who is also the Madani government spokesman, said developments at the state level would not affect the federal government’s position or its commitment to maintaining the existing administration.
He said the coalition partners within the Unity Government had demonstrated their commitment to the agreement reached before the formation of the federal government.
“At the federal level, we signed an agreement before forming the Unity Government, and our coalition partners have shown a clear commitment to it,” he told reporters after attending a round-table session held in conjunction with the launch of the Mobile Economy Asia Pacific 2026 report.
Fahmi was responding to questions on whether political developments in Johor and Negeri Sembilan could create uncertainty over the stability of the Unity Government.
He stressed that the government currently does not see any threat to its stability, adding that cooperation among the parties involved remains intact.
The minister said the focus of the federal administration continues to be on carrying out its responsibilities and serving the people despite ongoing political developments at the state level.
