“I Am Not Responsible For Najib’s Fall,” Says Rosmah

Date:

Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor has said she is unfazed by claims that she was responsible for the downfall of her husband, former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak, describing such accusations as baseless.

Speaking to Berita Harian during a special interview at her Kuala Lumpur residence yesterday, Rosmah said she draws strength from her family and close friends, who understand the truth behind what she described as negative and misleading narratives.

Appearing calm and composed, Rosmah expressed disappointment over what she said were celebrations by certain political figures following Najib’s conviction in the 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) case.

“What is truly saddening is when there are parties who take joy in the hardships and trials faced by our family,” she said, referring to social media posts made by several politicians after Najib was convicted.

Najib was sentenced to 15 years’ imprisonment and fined more than RM11 billion following his conviction in connection with the case.

“Regardless of how much they may dislike Najib or me, there is no justification for anyone to rejoice in our suffering,” she added.

Reflecting on the current phase of her life, Rosmah said she has chosen to focus fully on her family and to leave matters in the hands of Allah SWT, expressing hope that justice and truth will eventually prevail.

She said she believes recent developments are closely linked to political manoeuvring in the country.

“Everyone knows that what is happening today is due to politics. As a wife, I continuously pray for my husband’s well-being and for justice to be served,” she said.

Rosmah added that her daily life now revolves around caring for her grandchildren and spending time with her family, with strong emotional support from friends and relatives.

“Prayer, recitation of the Quran and devotion to God are now central to my life. As a wife, I will always pray for my husband,” she said.
