Iran has launched retaliatory attacks for a third consecutive day, further escalating tensions in the Gulf region and drawing in the United States into the widening conflict.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed the large-scale operation targeted eight key US military facilities, including the Ali al-Salem base in Kuwait and the Fifth Fleet naval base at Salman Port in Bahrain.
In a statement, the IRGC warned that any further aggression would be met with a firm response, regardless of the scale or importance of the target.
Efforts to maintain a fragile ceasefire between both sides have reportedly deteriorated, with each accusing the other of violating agreed terms.
A recent memorandum of understanding signed on June 17 between the United States and Iran reportedly prohibits military actions by both sides and their allies, though the agreement now appears increasingly unstable.
The latest escalation has also disrupted shipping activity through the Strait of Hormuz, raising concerns over global energy supply stability.
The IRGC further said it has tightened control over maritime traffic in the strategic waterway and warned that any vessel violating regulations would face strict action.
