The state government has allocated RM5.975 million under the Johor Budget 2026 for the Teacher’s Room Assistance initiative, marking its fourth consecutive year of implementation.
Johor Menteri Besar Onn Hafiz Ghazi said the initiative will benefit 1,195 schools and more than 49,000 teachers across the state.
He said the allocation reflects the state government’s appreciation for educators, who play a crucial role in shaping the future of the Bangsa Johor community.
“Teachers do not only teach in classrooms, but also build confidence, shape character, instil hope and prepare a better generation for Johor’s future,” he said in a statement.
He added that the initiative is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen teacher welfare and improve the quality of education in the state.
Earlier, Onn Hafiz attended the Johor Education Aspirations Ceremony 2026 held at SMK Tasek Utara, where he presented special awards, including the Education Leadership Award and Teacher Icon Award 2026, to outstanding educators.
He also expressed his appreciation to all teachers in Johor for their dedication, commitment and sacrifices in educating students.
He said the contributions of teachers are essential in producing a knowledgeable and morally strong generation capable of driving the state forward.
He added that the initiative aims to further strengthen teacher welfare, enhance the state education system and develop a competitive, well-rounded generation.
