JPN: New MyKad Rollout Will Not Affect Government Aid Distribution

Date:

National Registration Department (JPN) has assured the public that the transition to the new MyKad structure, set to begin in June, will not disrupt the distribution of government assistance to eligible recipients.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, JPN said aid programmes linked to MyKad usage, including Sumbangan Asas Rahmah (SARA) and Budi Madani RON95 (BUDI95), would continue to function as usual throughout the implementation process.

The department stressed that existing recipients registered in the system would not be left out during the migration to the new identification card structure.

The clarification was issued following concerns from certain parties over possible technical disruptions or the risk of eligible recipients missing out on aid payments after the launch of the new MyKad.

“JPN has established close cooperation with various ministries and agencies involved in aid distribution to ensure the integrity of the data remains smooth and secure.

“The migration of information will occur automatically within the central database system, ensuring assistance continues to reach eligible recipients,” the statement said.

According to JPN, the enhanced security features introduced under the new MyKad structure will strengthen identity verification processes while continuing to support the existing ecosystem used for government subsidies and assistance distribution.

The department added that the main objective of introducing the new MyKad structure is to improve identity security for Malaysians without complicating access to government aid.

At the same time, the public was advised not to be misled by rumours or false claims suggesting that government assistance would be discontinued if individuals failed to immediately replace their identity cards.

JPN explained that the rollout of the new MyKad structure would be implemented in phases, with further details regarding the application process expected to be announced soon.

For additional information, members of the public may refer to JPN’s official website and social media platforms.
