The Ministry of Health Malaysia (KKM) says it is reviewing allegations involving the use of Chinese writing on patient appointment cards at Klinik Kesihatan Sri Rampai and will take appropriate action if necessary.
The issue surfaced after a video uploaded on TikTok went viral, showing a patient appointment card printed in Mandarin at the government health clinic.
“Thank you for highlighting this issue. We are currently reviewing the matter and will take appropriate action,” the ministry said briefly in a response posted on its official Threads account on Tuesday.

The video later gained wider attention after being reshared on Threads, with many users debating the use of Mandarin on appointment cards typically printed in Bahasa Malaysia or English.
The 1-minute 27-second clip was originally uploaded by TikTok user @shah.faza, who argued that the matter should not be politicised as healthcare services involve public interest and rakyat welfare.
According to the uploader, the Health Ministry should take the matter seriously without allowing political sentiments to influence the delivery of services at government clinics.
The incident has since sparked discussions online regarding language use in public healthcare facilities and service accessibility for patients from different backgrounds.
