Loke Claims ‘Betrayers’ Are Trying To Bring Down Aminuddin’s Government

Date:

DAP secretary-general Anthony Loke has accused certain individuals of betraying and undermining the constitutional monarchy system in Negeri Sembilan by allegedly attempting to bring down the state government led by Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun.

However, Loke, who is also Negeri Sembilan Pakatan Harapan (PH) deputy chairman, did not reveal the identities of those he was referring to.

He said members of the state administration should work together, remain united and resolve any issues or crises collectively instead of taking actions that could destabilise the government.

“But they chose to use the situation to stab us in the back, withdraw support for Tok Min (Aminuddin) and attempt to topple the government of the Malays in Negeri Sembilan.

“That person is a betrayer and has acted against the constitutional monarchy system in Negeri Sembilan. If that person wants to become Menteri Besar, we will fight all the way. I do not need to mention the name,” he said during the PH candidate announcement ceremony for the 16th Negeri Sembilan State Election (PRN) at Dataran Melang last night.

The announcement was officiated by PH chairman Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and was attended by Aminuddin, Amanah president Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu, PH election director Datuk Seri Amiruddin Shaari and PH information chief Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil.

Loke also reiterated that DAP remains committed to respecting the Federal Constitution, the constitutional monarchy system, as well as the institution of the Undang Yang Empat and Tunku Besar Tampin in Negeri Sembilan.

He reminded party members and election workers to be careful with their statements and avoid making jokes or remarks that could be seen as disrespecting the state’s traditional institutions.

Loke said DAP would not compromise with any member who makes statements deemed disrespectful towards the institutions.

He added that during PH’s administration in Negeri Sembilan, the state government had maintained political stability, increased state reserves, attracted investments and expanded welfare initiatives that benefited the people.

According to him, the state had seen the arrival of major investments, industrial developments, improvements to transportation infrastructure including the new Seremban railway station, and growth in various districts.

Loke urged PH machinery to continue highlighting the government’s achievements while rejecting racial politics, hatred and false accusations, saying the coalition’s campaign would focus on offering a stable, progressive and inclusive administration for the people of Negeri Sembilan.
