A special meeting involving 25 Negeri Sembilan state assemblymen last night did not discuss an audience between Menteri Besar Ismail Lasim and Yang Dipertuan Besar Negeri Sembilan Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir, says state Umno chief Jalaluddin Alias.
Jalaluddin said the meeting instead focused on ensuring government representatives remained committed to serving their respective constituencies while strengthening the party.
He said Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman Ahmad Zahid Hamidi had also urged the assemblymen not to be distracted by current developments and to continue prioritising their responsibilities to the people.
“We conveyed a narrative and guideline for the 25 assemblymen to carry out their duties in their constituencies, strengthen the party and fulfil their responsibilities as elected representatives,” he told reporters after the meeting at Menara Dato Onn.
The meeting was also attended by Umno secretary-general Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki and BN secretary-general Zambry Abd Kadir.
