UMNO Youth chief Datuk Dr Muhamad Akmal Saleh has been given the mandate to spearhead the Himpunan Perpaduan Ummah, with a target of mobilising one million Muslims nationwide.
UMNO president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said the mandate was approved by delegates through a voice vote.
“With this, I seek your agreement to give the mandate to the UMNO Youth chief to organise the Himpunan Perpaduan Ummah.
“Mal (Muhamad Akmal), abah gives you the mandate. Work closely with them (PAS) and conduct a tour across all states before holding the grand finale at the national level,” he said.
Ahmad Zahid said this during his winding-up speech at the 2026 UMNO General Assembly (PAU 2026) at the World Trade Centre (WTC) here on Saturday.
He also urged the party’s machinery at all levels to give their full support to the initiative.
“I call on the entire UMNO Youth, Wanita and Puteri machinery to fully support this effort,” he said.
