Penang Approves Aidilfitri Bonus of Half-Month Salary or Minimum RM1,000 for Civil Servants

Date:

The Kerajaan Pulau Pinang has approved a Special Financial Assistance (BKKA) payment in conjunction with Hari Raya Aidilfitri 1447H/2026M, benefitting state civil servants and selected education sector personnel.

Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow announced that eligible state public service officers will receive half a month’s salary or a minimum of RM1,000, whichever is higher. The payment is scheduled to be disbursed no later than March 16.

In addition to state civil servants, the state government has also agreed to provide RM300 in BKKA 2026 to supervisors, teachers and staff of Kelas al-Quran dan Fardu Ain (KAFA), Sekolah Rendah Agama Rakyat (SRAR), Sekolah Menengah Agama Rakyat (SMAR), Sekolah Agama Bantuan Kerajaan (SABK), tahfiz and pondok institutions, Tadika Islam (TADIS), as well as Chinese independent schools across the state.

Chow said the initiative is expected to involve a financial implication of RM8.49 million, benefiting a total of 7,317 recipients statewide. He described the assistance as a gesture of appreciation for the dedication and unwavering commitment shown by state civil servants in advancing the Penang2030 vision towards becoming a smart and green state inspired by strong family values.

The special payment, he added, is also intended to help ease the financial burden of recipients as they prepare for the upcoming Aidilfitri celebrations.
