Pakatan Harapan (PH) would be the party most affected if a proposed understanding between Barisan Nasional (BN) and Perikatan Nasional (PN) becomes a reality in the upcoming 16th Negri Sembilan state election.
PAS Information Chief Ahmad Fadhli Shaari said some parties believe BN would suffer losses by working with PN, while others argue that PAS could face negative consequences from such an arrangement.
However, the Pasir Mas MP said he believed PH would be the coalition that would face the biggest impact.
“Some say BN will lose by forming an understanding with PN. Others say PAS will be the one to suffer. The reality is that PH will be the biggest loser,” he said in a Facebook post on Saturday.
Ahmad Fadhli also urged supporters to remain focused and continue their efforts, while calling on voters to reject PH in the Negri Sembilan election.
His remarks were believed to be in response to statements from several PH leaders who claimed BN could lose its influence by cooperating with PN, while PAS could also be disadvantaged in seat negotiations with UMNO.
Previously, DAP National Vice-Chairman Syahredzan Johan claimed BN risked losing its political influence if it continued with cooperation involving PN.
Amanah Communications Director Khalid Abd Samad had also said PAS would need to make major compromises during discussions over seat allocations.
Last Wednesday, Parti Wawasan president Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin proposed a BN-PN cooperation for the Negri Sembilan election under the name Perikatan Barisan Nasional (PBN).
Hamzah said the proposed name was aimed at preventing confusion among voters regarding the cooperation between the two political coalitions.
