Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is scheduled to campaign in Negeri Sembilan today as Pakatan Harapan (PH) intensifies its efforts during the ongoing state election campaign.
As the campaign enters its fifth day, the PH chairman’s presence is expected to be a major focus for the coalition as it seeks to defend the state administration led by Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun.
Anwar, who is also PKR president, is scheduled to attend four programmes covering Ampangan, Paroi, Sikamat and Senawang, involving engagements with residents, youths and PH supporters.
His campaign schedule will begin at 4pm with a casual afternoon session with Ampangan residents at Benteng @ Medan Selera Ampangan, followed by the Rakan Muda Tour programme at the Negeri Sembilan Youth and Sports Complex (KOMBES), Paroi, at 5pm.
Later in the evening, Anwar is expected to attend the DUN Sikamat Unity Dinner before joining the PH grand ceramah for DUN Paroi at Pusat Bandar Senawang.
His appearance is seen as part of PH’s efforts to strengthen its campaign message following the launch of its manifesto on Monday, which outlined 10 key commitments aimed at making Negeri Sembilan a more advanced and inclusive state.
For the 16th Negeri Sembilan state election, PH is contesting all 36 state seats, with 16 candidates from PKR, 11 from DAP and nine from Parti Amanah Negara (AMANAH).
The Election Commission (SPR) has set early voting for July 28, while polling day will be held on August 1.
