PM Anwar To Unveil Full Pakatan Harapan Candidate Line-Up For Johor Polls Tonight

Date:

Pakatan Harapan (PH) chairman Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is set to announce the coalition’s full list of 56 candidates for the 16th Johor State Election tonight.

The highly anticipated announcement is scheduled to take place at 8pm at Padang Bukit Gambir Extreme Park, where PH will officially reveal its complete slate of candidates for all state constituencies.

Several top PH leaders are expected to attend the event, including DAP secretary-general Anthony Loke and Amanah president Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu, alongside party machinery members and supporters.

Ahead of the official launch, PH component parties have already unveiled several candidates.

DAP has named lawyer Chu Poh Yee for Mengkibol, Deputy Finance Minister’s private secretary Nor Zulaila Abd Ghani for Tiram, Johor DAP Socialist Youth (DAPSY) chief Lee Wern Yiing for Johor Jaya, former assemblyman Wong Bor Yang for Senai, and Kulai MP’s special aide Mohamad Shafwan Ani for Bukit Permai.

Meanwhile, PKR previously confirmed that Arthur Chiong Sen Sern will defend the Bukit Batu state seat.

In a social media post yesterday, Anwar said Johor deserves leaders who possess integrity, credibility and a strong commitment to driving the state’s development while safeguarding the welfare of its people.

The Election Commission (EC) has fixed June 27 as nomination day, while early voting will take place on July 7. Polling day has been scheduled for July 11.

With the full candidate list set to be unveiled, attention is now turning to PH’s strategy and line-up as the coalition prepares for what is expected to be a closely watched Johor state election.
