PM Anwar Urges Negeri Sembilan Voters To Give PH Stronger Mandate

Date:

Pakatan Harapan (PH) chairman Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has called on voters in Negeri Sembilan to place their trust in the coalition by giving it a stronger mandate in the upcoming state election.

In a Facebook post, Anwar, who is also Prime Minister, said the support would allow the state administration under Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun to continue delivering a clean, stable and integrity-driven government.

The Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) president said various efforts have been carried out since 2018, but more initiatives are still needed to ensure the well-being of all Negeri Sembilan residents.

“May all PH candidates be granted strength, ease in all matters and achieve the best possible results. We place our trust in Allah,” he said.

The Negeri Sembilan state election will see 103 candidates competing for 36 state seats after the nomination process was completed.

PH is fielding candidates in all 36 seats, including Aminuddin who will contest the Linggi state seat, while Barisan Nasional (BN) is contesting 25 seats and Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) 24 seats.

Meanwhile, Perikatan Nasional (PN) is contesting 11 seats, with other parties including Barisan Jemaah Islamiah Se-Malaysia (Berjasa), Parti Orang Asli Malaysia (ASLI), Parti Sosialis Malaysia (PSM) and four independent candidates also joining the contest.

The Negeri Sembilan State Legislative Assembly was dissolved on June 5, with the Election Commission setting Aug 1 as polling day and July 28 for early voting.
