Perikatan Nasional (PN) Chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar has confirmed that he has signed the official candidate warrants for the coalition ahead of the upcoming Johor State Election next month.
In a Facebook post, Samsuri, who is also the Terengganu Menteri Besar, said the signing of candidate appointments and authorisation letters for the use of the party symbol was completed last night.
He stressed that every signature represents more than a nomination process, describing it as a major responsibility to represent the voice of the people, provide solutions and help shape a better future for Johor.
Samsuri said PN has finalised the distribution of seats among its component parties, including PAS, BERSATU, GERAKAN and the Malaysian Indian People’s Party (MIPP), through a smooth and consensus-based process.
It was reported that BERSATU secured the highest number of seats, contesting in 34 state constituencies.
He added that all PN candidates will contest under the coalition’s common logo, reflecting unity within the alliance.
Samsuri also emphasised that PN prioritises discipline and unity within its leadership as it prepares for the Johor election, noting that all negotiations were concluded through official party mechanisms.
He urged all party leaders and machinery to now focus fully on election preparations, highlighting PN’s aim to offer clean leadership, people-centric policies and renewed hope for the people of Johor.
Samsuri further stated that he had taken note of recent media statements from a BERSATU vice-president regarding internal matters, which had already been discussed in the PN Supreme Council meeting.
He reiterated that PN operates based on its constitution, organisational discipline and collective decisions, stressing that all component parties must respect agreed resolutions even if differing views exist.
Expressing regret, he said internal coalition matters should not be brought into the public domain after discussions have been concluded.
