The Negeri Sembilan police received 12 reports across the state on polling day for the 16th State Election (PRN) held yesterday.
Negeri Sembilan police chief Datuk Alzafny Ahmad said one investigation paper had been opened involving an alleged election offence.
He said the report was lodged by a 46-year-old man who claimed he was dissatisfied with the actions of a group of individuals from a political party who allegedly threatened to block a road.
The incident was said to have caused concern among residents in Kampung Dusun Kubur, Jelebu.
Alzafny said the investigation was opened under Section 506 of the Penal Code for criminal intimidation and Section 9 of the Election Offences Act 1954 relating to the use of force or intimidation to influence voters or candidates during an election period.
He added that police recorded 104 reports related to election offences between July 18 and polling day.
Meanwhile, traffic congestion was reported along several major routes in Seremban, Jelebu and Kuala Pilah due to increased vehicle movement and the location of some polling centres near main roads.
He said Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department personnel were deployed at busy areas to manage traffic flow, while highway operators also assisted by opening all lanes at affected toll plazas to ease congestion.
Alzafny said the polling process for the Negeri Sembilan state election proceeded smoothly and thanked the public for their cooperation and compliance with the law throughout the election period.
