South Korea’s presidential office has demanded an official explanation and apology from Ukraine after Kyiv allegedly disclosed the transfer of North Korean prisoners of war to Seoul despite an earlier agreement to keep the matter confidential.
The presidential office said Ukraine had unilaterally revealed the transfer, contrary to the understanding reached between the two governments.
It also criticised Kyiv for subsequently denying that any confidentiality agreement had existed, calling the denial false.
According to South Korea’s presidential office, the disclosure and subsequent denial had damaged trust between Seoul and Kyiv.
The office said it expected Ukraine to provide an explanation and take steps to address the issue.
