Tuan Ibrahim Denies Viral Claims Over Office Rental Payments

Date:

Kubang Kerian MP Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man has denied viral allegations claiming he failed to pay rent for the Kubang Kerian Parliamentary Service Centre office in Pasir Tumboh.

He stressed that all rental payments had been made according to the agreed schedule, describing the claims as baseless and defamatory.

He said the matter had already been clarified previously, but the allegations continued to circulate despite his explanation.

In a broader context, he emphasised the importance of accurate information in preventing public confusion and the spread of unverified claims.

According to him, payment records show that monthly rent had been consistently paid from January last year until April this year without any arrears.

He added that for the period between January and August 2025, payments were made to the previous property owner at a rate of RM1,800 to RM2,000 per month.

From September 2025 onwards, a new tenancy agreement was signed with the new property owner, with the rent set at RM2,200 per month.

He further stated that rental payments from September 2025 to April this year had been fully settled based on available records.

For May’s payment, he explained that it was offset using surplus deposit held by the landlord, following legal advice due to an eviction notice allegedly issued in breach of the tenancy agreement.

Tuan Ibrahim also said he has instructed his lawyers to take appropriate legal action to clear his name and that of his party.

He urged the public to exercise caution when sharing unverified allegations, citing Islamic teachings on the consequences of slander and defamation.
