Malaysia Sweeps All Doubles Titles at Indonesia Masters

Date:

The Malaysian badminton squad made history at Istora Senayan, Jakarta, by sweeping all doubles titles at the Indonesia Masters on Sunday.

The achievement is especially significant as it marks the first time three Malaysian players won titles simultaneously at a single event on the world tour.

The victories were met with jubilation from fans, who flooded social media with praise and admiration. Many described the feat as almost unbelievable but deeply proud-making.

“Hard to believe, but it’s real. Well done, keep up the momentum!” wrote one fan. Another praised the calmness of the Malaysian players despite the deafening home crowd:

“The Malaysian team’s advantage was clear. The loud support for the home team didn’t affect them at all. Their relaxed, composed style made it seem as if there was no pressure,” commented another netizen.

A third fan expressed gratitude for Malaysia’s clean sweep of the finals: “All Malaysian finalists won. Congratulations!”

The day of celebration began with the mixed doubles pairing of Chen Tang Jie and Toh Ee Wei, who displayed great fighting spirit to defeat Denmark’s Mathias Christiansen and Alexandra Boje in a thrilling three-set match.

Next, the country’s top women’s doubles team, Pearly Tan and M Thinaah, were crowned Indonesia Masters champions without playing, after Japan’s Arisa Igarashi and Miyu Takahashi withdrew from the final.

Malaysia’s success was capped off by the men’s doubles team of Goh Sze Fei and Nur Izzuddin Rumsani, who comfortably defeated Indonesia’s Raymond Indra and Nikolaus Joaquin 21-19, 21-13 in a 37-minute match.

The historic clean sweep by Malaysian doubles teams highlights the nation’s rising strength in badminton and was warmly celebrated by fans nationwide.
