A total of RM263 million in additional investment is expected to flow into Perak from Ningbo Fresh Technology Co Ltd, a China-based automotive components manufacturer headquartered in Ningbo, Zhejiang, through its planned expansion at the Tanjung Malim Hi-Tech Park.
Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad said the investment commitment was made following a recent visit by the state government delegation to the company in Shanghai, China, on Wednesday.
He said Ningbo Fresh Technology already operates an existing manufacturing facility in Tanjong Malim and is now planning to further expand its operations in the Tanjong Malim Hi-Tech Park to serve both local and export markets.
“After establishing operations in Tanjong Malim, the company is now looking to expand further with an additional RM263 million investment in the Hi-Tech Park,” he said in a Facebook post on Thursday.
Saarani added that Perak will continue strengthening its position as a strategic investment destination, particularly for the automotive, high-tech and future industrial sectors.
The investment is also expected to boost the state’s economy, create high-skilled job opportunities, and accelerate technology transfer as well as local talent development.
Ningbo Fresh Technology is involved in the design and production of high-tech automotive components, including metal casting moulds, high-pressure die casting, machining works, and surface treatments such as anodising and painting.
The additional investment is projected to generate around 400 to 600 job opportunities for locals, further driving industrial growth and talent development in Perak.
As one of the pioneer investors in the Tanjong Malim Hi-Tech Park, the company’s presence also strengthens the development of the industrial area spearheaded by Setia Awan Group, which supports the Automotive High-Tech Valley (AHTV) initiative in Tanjong Malim.
Saarani is currently leading the Perak state delegation on an Investment and Trade Mission to China from May 17 to 24, involving business matching sessions and strategic visits in automotive, smart city, digital technology, data centre and green energy sectors.
The mission is part of the state government’s efforts to expand international investment networks, attract high-quality investments and explore new collaborations that can contribute to Perak’s economic development.
