A 1 minute 55 second video circulating on social media has drawn public attention after it allegedly shows a man harassing two women at Taman Klebang Utama in Melaka.
Melaka Tengah District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Christopher Patit, confirmed that authorities have come across the clip, which was uploaded on Threads and has since gone viral. He said the video has gained significant traction online, with around 1,300 likes, 123 comments and 358 shares recorded so far.
Despite its wide circulation, police have so far not received any official report regarding the incident. Christopher stressed that no formal complaint has been lodged, which limits the ability of investigators to take immediate follow-up action. In general, authorities often rely on official reports to initiate full investigations, even when content spreads widely online.
Members of the public and those involved are being urged to come forward to assist the investigation. The police have also appealed for the account owner and any victims to lodge a report at the nearest police station or contact the Melaka Tengah District Police Headquarters without delay.
Preliminary checks indicate that the video was uploaded by an account under the username “bossmario_yg_”, with claims that the incident took place on 12 April. It is alleged that two female employees were harassed by an unknown man who reportedly attempted to force them into immoral acts and also grabbed their hands.
Authorities reiterated that unverified online content can complicate investigations when no formal reports are made. In general, police encourage victims of such incidents to come forward promptly so that evidence can be preserved and appropriate action can be taken under the law.
