Ex-Minister’s Aide Jailed Six Years, Fined RM8.8 Million for Bribery

Former senior private secretary to a former minister, Mohd Saifullah Mohd Minggu @ Mohd Hisham, was sentenced today to six years’ imprisonment and fined RM8.8 million, with a default sentence of seven years, for accepting bribes seven years ago.

The 34-year-old was found guilty of receiving RM1.77 million from businessman Ronald Seto Kong Seng through intermediary Roslan Lahada between December 2018 and March 2019.

The bribes were intended to secure tenders for Tourism Malaysia and the Visit Malaysia 2020 advertising and digital promotion projects through direct negotiations with Plan B Digital Sdn Bhd.
