Anwar Approves RM500 Million for Flood-Damaged Public Infrastructure

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has approved RM500 million to repair public infrastructure damaged by recent floods across multiple states. He instructed all relevant state and federal departments to carry out damage assessments and commence repair works without delay.

“This allocation covers schools, clinics, roads, and other essential facilities. To speed up recovery, I have approved RM500 million for flood damage repairs,” Anwar said while presenting the Supply (Budget) Bill 2026 for its second reading in the Dewan Negara today.

The Supply Bill, originally tabled on October 10, was passed by the Dewan Rakyat yesterday.

Anwar, who also serves as Finance Minister, highlighted that the National Disaster Management Agency (Nadma) has strengthened its preparedness and coordinated with local and state authorities to manage the disaster effectively.
