5-Year-Old Boy Killed by MPV While Crossing Road in Alor Gajah

A tragic accident occurred in Jalan Paya Mengkuang, Alor Gajah, yesterday when a 5-year-old boy was struck and killed by a multi-purpose vehicle (MPV).

Alor Gajah police chief Superintendent Ahmad Abu Bakar said the incident happened at 5.09pm as the child was allegedly crossing from a residential area to the opposite side of the road. He was hit by a Toyota Avanza traveling from Paya Mengkuang towards Masjid Tanah.

“The child sustained severe head injuries and was rushed to the Masjid Tanah health clinic, where he was pronounced dead,” Ahmad said.

Police are urging anyone with information about the accident to contact Insp Nurul Salina Rosli at the Alor Gajah Traffic Police Station at 011-2543 5507 or visit the nearest police station.
