Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu has announced his resignation as Perikatan Nasional (PN) Perak chairman, effective January 1, following Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin’s decision to step down as coalition chairman.
In a statement, Ahmad Faizal said he made the decision out of respect for the chairman’s authority in party appointments.
“Taking note of Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin’s decision to resign as Perikatan Nasional chairman, and respecting that the appointment power rests with the chairman, I hereby announce my resignation as Perak PN chairman,” he said.
He also expressed his appreciation to party leaders and members for their support and cooperation during his tenure.
