Sultan Pahang Stops for Wedding Photoshoot and Gives Newlyweds a Gift

Date:

A once-in-a-lifetime moment turned a normal wedding photoshoot into an unforgettable experience for newlyweds Shah Amirul, 24, and his wife Rosyamimie, 24, when Sultan Pahang, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, accompanied by Tengku Ampuan Pahang, Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah, made a spontaneous stop nearby Istana Sri Udara, Temerloh, on Saturday.

The couple, who have been together for three years, said they never expected to meet the royal couple while conducting their outdoor photoshoot ahead of their wedding reception.

“We had our akad nikah on Friday and our bersanding ceremony on Saturday. In the morning before the reception, we went for our photoshoot because we were worried it might rain later,” Shah explained. “When the Sultan’s car passed by, we waved and invited him to take a photo with us. To our surprise, he said yes. We even received a gift envelope with money.”

Shah shared that during the brief meeting, the Sultan asked where they were from, and Tengku Ampuan Pahang complimented his wife’s attire and inquired where it was made.

The couple’s chance encounter lasted around five to ten minutes, leaving Shah exhilarated. “I really didn’t expect to feel like a king for a day and meet the real king,” he said.

Photos and videos of the encounter quickly went viral on social media, earning the couple a flood of congratulations from netizens.

“Honestly, it felt like the wedding of the year. I was happy all day even though it was exhausting. I couldn’t sleep well that night,” Shah added.

The couple first met three years ago while studying at Kolej Komuniti Temerloh. They now run a second-hand clothing store in Paya Pulai, Temerloh.
