According to Thai news outlet Matichon, the incident occurred on January 3, 2026. The fire quickly spread from the power bank to the woman’s clothing, causing flames to engulf her face and arms.

Reports by news.ch7.com said vendors and shoppers were shocked when they saw the woman, who was wearing a red shirt, screaming for help as she was engulfed in flames. A nearby market vendor said the woman ran towards her seeking assistance and appeared to have sustained severe burns to her face and arms.

Another vendor acted swiftly by pouring water on the woman, successfully extinguishing the flames.
