Six Injured in Two-Car Crash in Bagan Serai Rescue Teams Free Trapped Driver

Six people were injured in a two-car collision on Jalan Besar Gunung Semanggol, Simpang Empat in Bagan Serai on Monday morning, January 5.

According to Shazlean Mohd Hanafiah, acting deputy director of operations for the Perak Fire and Rescue Department, the department received an emergency call at 9:57 a.m. and dispatched a team from the Bagan Serai fire station, located about 12 km away. Fire engines arrived at the scene at 10:09 a.m.

The crash involved two vehicles. In the larger car, three passengers were not trapped, though a man sustained serious injuries, while a woman and a female child were also hurt. In the second car, three people were injured, including a woman driver who was trapped in her seat and two male children.

Firefighters used hydraulic equipment to free the trapped driver, who was then handed over to medical personnel. An Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) unit transported three victims to the hospital.

The rescue operation, involving seven fire personnel, was brought under control at 10:13 a.m. and concluded by 10:53 a.m.
