6.4-Magnitude Earthquake Rocks Southern Philippines

A strong earthquake measuring 6.4 on the Richter scale struck the southern Philippines at 11:03 a.m. today.

According to the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia), the quake occurred at a depth of 67 kilometres, approximately 129 kilometres southeast of Bislig, Philippines.

MetMalaysia confirmed that the earthquake does not pose a tsunami threat to Malaysia.
