Jackie Chan Makes Moves to Reconnect with Estranged Daughter Etta Ng

Date:

Superstar Datuk Jackie Chan is reportedly taking steps to rebuild his relationship with his estranged daughter, Etta Ng.

Hong Kong media reported that Chan has provided financial support to Ng, 26, on several occasions last year, including covering her rent in Canada and supporting her design career. His team also reportedly reached out to her studio to commission promotional design work for one of his films.

In a recent livestream, Ng was asked if she and her father had reconciled. She responded: “He has been looking at the posters I’ve made lately,” but did not give a clear answer when asked if she had forgiven him.

Ng, Chan’s daughter from an extramarital relationship with former beauty queen Elaine Ng, grew up largely estranged from her father. In 2015, she told British media she never wished to see him.

Her early adult life was turbulent; in 2018, she revealed she had been homeless and was later seen in 2022 queuing for free meals in Hong Kong. Recent reports suggest her situation is stabilizing. She is now working as an assistant at a design company and was recently spotted manning a stall in Mong Kok.

This marks one of the first times in years that Ng has publicly spoken about Chan, who has been married to former actress Joan Lin since 1982.
