A mother’s alarming discovery has triggered widespread outrage online after her domestic helper allegedly disappeared with stolen valuables, leaving two young children alone at home.
In a TikTok post shared by user @artisdumai1, the woman said her 24-year-old Indonesian maid had been working in her household for just one month. The incident allegedly happened shortly after the helper received her first salary.
According to the mother, the maid waited until no adults were home before packing a pink suitcase, taking gold jewellery and leaving the house.
What made the situation even more disturbing was that the helper allegedly walked out without locking the door, leaving the two children inside the home unattended for nearly an hour. CCTV footage shared online shows the maid exiting the house with her luggage.
At the time, one of the children was reportedly suffering from a fever, while the other was crying in distress. When the mother returned and realised what had happened, she immediately attended to the children, later saying they were shaken by the ordeal.
In her social media posts, the woman also suggested that someone may have been waiting outside to pick up the maid after she left.
The mother has since appealed to the public for information on the helper’s whereabouts, offering a reward for any verified leads. She later claimed the maid was last seen in Putrajaya.
The TikTok video has since gone viral, amassing more than three million views and over 90,000 likes. Many Malaysians have condemned the alleged act, calling it reckless and dangerous, especially given the children’s young age and health.
As of now, there has been no official confirmation on whether the maid has been located, and the case continues to draw strong reactions online.
