A motorcyclist and her young passenger were involved in a frightening crash on a winding hill road after attempting a dangerous overtake, crossing a double white line, and colliding head-on with an oncoming car. Both were thrown from the motorcycle but miraculously managed to stand up after the incident.
According to a video shared today on Facebook by “Penang Kini,” the incident occurred on Jalan Bukit Baru in Pulau Penang. The footage shows the motorcycle entering a sharp bend and crossing into the opposite lane, apparently to overtake another vehicle, where it collided directly with a car. The female rider and the child on board were sent tumbling to the ground.
After the crash, the motorcyclist quickly got up and checked on the child. The video shows her moving cautiously, slightly limping, while helping the child to a safer spot on the roadside. Thankfully, neither sustained serious injuries, and both were able to stand on their own.
The video has drawn widespread attention online, with many netizens criticizing the rider for reckless behavior, stating that speed should never be prioritized over safety—especially when a child is involved. Some commented that the collision was entirely the motorcycle’s fault, noting that the car had already slowed down while negotiating the bend.
Others, however, expressed relief that both survived and urged the rider to learn from the incident, advising greater caution in the future, particularly when carrying passengers.
