Motorcyclist Injured After Burger Stall Falls from Truck in Taiping

Date:

A motorcyclist narrowly escaped death after a burger stall being transported on a truck fell and struck him on Jalan Medan Saujana 3, Taiping.

The incident, which occurred around 3.30pm on 20 January, has gone viral on social media. It involved a Hino truck, a motorcycle, and a car.

Taiping district police chief Assistant Commissioner Abdul Malek Ismail said preliminary investigations revealed that the 30-year-old truck driver was towing the burger stall from Taiping towards Kamunting and entered a one-way street before reportedly losing control.

“As a result, the burger stall fell onto the road, hitting a motorcycle ridden by a 28-year-old man and a Proton Saga FL driven by a 34-year-old woman,” he said in a statement.

He added that the car driver was unharmed, while the motorcyclist sustained minor injuries to his forehead and neck, as well as cuts on his hands and legs.

A summons was issued, and the motorcyclist received treatment at Taiping Hospital.

A dashboard camera video capturing the incident has been circulating widely on social media since yesterday.
