Man Finds RM150,000 on Highway, Hands It Back Without Hesitation

Date:

A man returned a bag containing VND 1 billion (approximately RM150,000) after finding it in Ninh Binh province on January 23.

According to VNExpress, 46-year-old Nguyen Van Huan discovered the bag while travelling to Hanoi with two friends around midday, near the Liem Tuyen toll gate.

Huan stopped to pick up a white sack, only to find 20 bundles of 50,000-dong notes (around RM8 each) neatly packed inside, totaling VND 1 billion.

He immediately contacted the highway traffic police and requested assistance in reviewing CCTV footage at the location to trace the vehicle that had dropped the money.

Footage revealed that the bag had fallen from a pickup truck at the highway entrance on the same day it was found, allowing authorities to identify the owner.

The owner confirmed that the money had just been withdrawn from a bank.

As a token of appreciation for his honesty, Huan was rewarded VND 5 million (around RM760) by the owner.
