Bullied Schoolboy in Kedah Gets Minister’s Personal Support — TikTok Video Goes Viral

Date:

A bullying case involving a student from Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Labu Besar in Kulim, Kedah has drawn serious attention from the Minister of Home Affairs and the Kedah Police Chief after the victim’s family raised the issue during a private meeting.

Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution, who visited the area to meet with locals, expressed concern over the safety of primary school students after learning that the incident involved elements of violence.

“Were knives involved? Did they hide them in their bags? Were they sticks? Where did they hit your brother? Did it happen outside the school gates?” he asked the student.

Initial reports indicate that the child was bullied by several classmates, causing significant trauma and fear, which led him to avoid going to school.

Kedah Police Chief Datuk Adzli Abu Shah said the matter is being taken seriously and that a follow-up investigation will be conducted at the school after the student’s father reported that his child was too scared to attend school for fear of further bullying.

“You can’t do that; he has to go to school. We’ll sort this out,” he said.

In a lighthearted attempt to reassure the student, Datuk Adzli even joked, telling the child to call out his name if confronted by bullies.

“If it’s too scary, just say my name,” he said.

A video of the meeting was shared on TikTok by user @misiupdate and has garnered widespread attention. Comments from viewers included, “After this, the bullies won’t dare anymore,” by @rimbabara, “Well done, YB engaging with the people,” by @yuyuyuyu, and “Good job, kid, for being honest,” by @AisKrim.
