Man Tragically Drowns After Falling Into Ditch in Bagan Datuk

An elderly man was found drowned after reportedly falling into a ditch in Pekan Sungai Dulang, Hutan Melintang, Bagan Datuk earlier today.

Acting Assistant Director of Operations for the Perak Fire and Rescue Department, Shazlean Mohd. Hanafiah, said the department received a call at 9:42 a.m., and five personnel from the Hutan Melintang Fire and Rescue Station were dispatched to the scene for the rescue operation.

“Upon arrival, we found an 83-year-old man in the ditch. He was pulled to the embankment with assistance from police and members of the public,” he said.

Medical personnel later confirmed that the elderly man had passed away. His body was handed over to the police for further investigation, and the operation concluded at 10:46 a.m.
