Johor Police Bust Major E-Cigarette Liquid Drug Syndicate Worth Nearly RM1 Million

Date:

Johor police have dismantled the state’s largest e-cigarette liquid drug distribution syndicate, seizing products valued at nearly RM1 million in separate raids at Taman Mount Austin and Taman Molek last Thursday.

Johor Police Chief Datuk Ab Rahaman Arsad said the operation, based on intelligence by the Narcotics Crime Investigation Department (JSJN) of the Johor Contingent Police Headquarters (IPK), led to the arrest of two men.

The suspects, aged between 25 and 38, included one Malaysian and one Singaporean citizen.

“The first raid took place at approximately 1.35am in front of a bank in Taman Mount Austin, where a local man was arrested,” he said.

Further investigation led officers to a house in Taman Setia Indah, suspected to be a storage site for drugs. At the location, police seized 3,200 vape cartridges believed to contain ketamine-laced e-liquid, with an estimated weight of 11.2 litres and a total value of RM960,000.

Additionally, 48 packets of ecstasy powder weighing 960 grams, valued at around RM14,400, were confiscated.

The second raid was conducted in Taman Molek, Johor Bahru, resulting in the arrest of a Singaporean man. However, no drugs were found in his possession.

Datuk Ab Rahaman confirmed that investigations are ongoing to identify other individuals involved in the syndicate.
