Wearing her signature green sweater, red scarf, and headphones, Lofi Girl has been a loyal virtual study buddy for millions of millennials and Gen Z fans around the world. Her lo-fi hip-hop livestreams on YouTube have become iconic over the past eight years—but now, fans are wondering if she’s finally closing her laptop for good.
On July 30, Lofi Girl’s social media accounts shared a short video recreating a memorable scene from the Disney Channel series ANT Farm. In the clip, Lofi Girl holds up her laptop, displaying the words “The End.” She then shuts it, and in a flash, her outfit transforms into a graduation robe while a voiceover plays: “Finally! Finished with all my homework. I don’t know what I learnt but I’m done learning.”
The caption, “girl i just graduado,” cheekily references a popular meme, fueling a wave of reactions online. Brands like YouTube, Microsoft, and the Cleveland Browns chimed in with congratulations, while fans expressed shock and nostalgia, with one joking, “Lofi Girl graduating before GTA 6,” and another saying, “This is how we know we are in end times.”
Despite the emotional post, it looks like things haven’t changed too much. Lofi Girl is still streaming around the clock on YouTube, offering her signature chilled beats for focus and relaxation.
The channel, which started in 2015 as ChilledCow, rebranded to Lofi Girl in 2021. Over the years, it has expanded to feature new characters like Lofi Boy and Tiago, but Lofi Girl remains the face of the franchise—studying, dreaming, and lo-fi vibing into the future.
